Mac lipsticks for Indian SkinTone + Mini Review + Swatches

A girls vanity is never complete without a set of lipsticks! Different shades to go with her different moods. After all, there is no such thing as a girl with too many lipsticks. These tiny bullets are the only weapon we need.

I believe that we Indians have the most unique and gorgeous skin colour. And there are some lipsticks that just look beyond flattering on our dusky, brown skin.

While there are numerous brands that cater our lipstick-lust, I bring to you some of my favourites from Mac. Mac has been a market leader since years and offers some good quality, high-end luxury cosmetics at, well, not-so-affordable prices! But, all said and done, some Mac lipsticks are totally worth the splurge and live up to all that hype.

I am pretty sure you must have heard a lot of people rave about this one, and trust me, they’re all right. Ruby Woo is an amazing universal red and suits every skin tone like a dream. It is from their Retro Matte collection and is a little drying on the lips. So make sure to exfoliate and moisturise your lips before applying this one and rest assured it won’t budge the entire day. Pair with with any kind of make up you like, your lips are sure to stand out.

If you are looking for the perfect nude to wear on an everyday basis, look no further. Mehr is what you need in life. It is one of the best nude shades available out there that doesn’t wash you out or make you look dead. It is a cool toned nude with pink undertones that goes really well with the Indian skin. It has a matte finish but has a very creamy texture that does not dry out your lips. Wear this lipstick with smokey eyes for your night outs or just apply it with a fresh look for the day.

3. DIVA

So, if you are into dark, vampy lips, Diva is the perfect match for you. It is a maroonish-burgundy with warm undertones. It is very opaque and lasts for a good 5-6 hours on your lips after which it starts fading and leaves behind a stain, which I personally like. Again, from Mac’s Matte collection, it is a bit drying on the lips, which is why I would advice a lip balm before applying it. Wear it with a LBD and let your lips do all the talking. 😉

To me, this red could easily pass of as a pinky-corally-red. It looks different under different lighting. Some days it is a bright pink, other times it is a striking red with a touch of pink and coral. It has a fairly opaque application, but since it belongs to the retro matte family, prior prepping of the lips is a must. It looks stunning on people with a warm skin tone like most of us Indians. Relentlessly Red is a fun, bright and peppy colour that everyone must have in their make up bags.

So girls, which shade do you love the most? Tell me in the comments down below. Also, don’t forget to like and share this post with your girlies ❤
